Shyan Selah’s non-profit organization The Shyan Selah Foundation (a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization focused on creating dynamic event experiences that promote higher education for youth and young adults) will co-produce the College & Career event with Brave New World Enterprises which is also producing the evening Concert and accompanying documentary production. This production will also commemorate 7 years of Shyan Selah’s most pivotal work, The Cafe Noir Project.
The Café Noir Project is an unprecedented live music program being featured at Starbucks stores, live music venues, colleges and universities across the globe. Café Noir highlights Shyan Selah’s unique voice and musical message and is designed to bring an exclusive music experience to the consumer audience on a grassroots level and was first birthed at Starbucks on 23rd & Jackson in the Central District of Seattle.
The goal behind the Café Noir Project is to use music as a form of activism in creating community interaction with a special pro-education message for youth. While the music and entertainment industry is more known for its celebrities and superstars, this project reinforces to youth the importance of education by highlighting those skilled and educated professionals behind the scenes who are responsible for making such stars happen. As a result, Shyan and Brave New World have cultivated relationships with nationally known colleges/universities and have included organizations such as Grammy U and ASCAP to join and support this unique tour experience.
Over the past six years, The Cafe Noir Project has toured around the country on both the ground and the air with live performance and interview features on American Airlines Radio and Delta Airlines’ Sky Magazine. In addition to the live performance, the event will feature a pop-up store marketplace in the grand lobby and other exclusive merchandise.
The concert itself will be recorded and distributed worldwide for streaming on platforms such as Hulu, Roku, and Amazon Prime.
